Businesses are important engines of the global economy; they, and the communities on which they depend, must be better prepared to adapt to changing conditions. To address this challenge, the Climate Resilience Pathways Initiative was launched in September 2023 by Resilience FirstResilience Rising and The Center for Climate and Energy Solutions (C2ES).

Since its launch, the convening partners have engaged nearly 70 sustainability and climate experts from across a range of industries, in public and private forums around the world. The insights gathered from these discussions, alongside the latest research and expert analysis, have informed the development of this position paper detailing the case for private sector action, the drivers of and barriers to accelerating investment, and the Working Principles for Corporate Climate Resilience Leadership.

Together, the paper and the principles set the foundations for defining a new narrative for the private sector – one that underscores the necessity of robust resilience measures and establishes a community of practice committed to fostering a resilient, inclusive and thriving global economy.
