Rick Cudworth is a senior advisor in organisational resilience and strategic risk mitigation and is a founding partner of resilience and crisis specialists ResilienC. With over 20 years’ experience as a Partner at Deloitte and KPMG, he was also Chair of the British Standards Institution Technical Committee for Continuity and Resilience, where he has been influential in the development of British and International Standards in the field. He is a member of the Cabinet Office Behavioural Science Expert Group as part of the National Security Risk Assessment process for the UK, and a visiting professor at King's College London and visiting fellow at Cranfield University School of Management. Rick can comment on issues of corporate resilience at the C-suite level.
Martyn Link is an experienced strategic leader, passionate about enabling organisations prepare for, and adapt to, the biggest challenges of our time. He leads Resilience First, the business-focused arm of Resilience Rising, a global consortium working together to accelerate a safe, resilient and sustainable future for all. Prior to this Martyn spent 11 years at the global engineering giant Wood Plc, where he was responsible for corporate strategy, organisational design and leading the pivot towards the energy transition. Martyn is a scientist by training and has two degrees from Edinburgh University. He started his career at Wood Mackenzie where he focused on corporate strategy and competitive intelligence. Martyn subsequently helped shape the investment portfolio of an innovation fund before joining Wood. Martyn can comment on issues of climate resilience, energy transition, resilience leadership and organisational resilience.
Lord Toby Harris is a member of the Joint Committee on National Security Strategy. He is the UK Co-ordinator of the Electrical Infrastructure Security Council and chairs the Independent Reference Group for the National Crime Agency. In 2016, he conducted an Independent Review for the Mayor of London on London’s Preparedness to Respond to a Major Terrorist Incident. At the request of the Minister for Prisons, he led an Independent Review on the Deaths of Young People in Prison Custody. He is a member of the Advisory Board of Resilience First. Lord Toby can comment on issues of security resilience and politics.
Former Brigadier John Deverell CBE held the post of Director Defence Diplomacy in Whitehall and acted as senior military adviser to Chief Constables across southern England. On leaving government service, John first joined the Executive Leadership Team of Invensys plc, with responsibility for crisis management, then moved to M:Communications, working on reputation and crisis management solutions. Since then he has led his own company in promoting and providing the Prepared Mind approach to dealing with potential crises for governments and commercial organisations - at www.thepreparedmind.net
At the same time John continues to work for the MOD, FCO, DFID and the Home Office on a project basis. He has appeared many times on BBC TV and radio, commenting on strategy, risk and security. A graduate of Sandhurst, he has an MPhil from the University of Cambridge in International Relations and a diploma in Negotiation and Mediation from the University of Kent. John is a member of the Resilience First Advisory Board.
