Resilience First, in partnership with UN-Habitat and GCom, will be convening city leaders and business leaders to discuss actions, solutions and frameworks required to advance the building of resilient cities and their communities.
The coronavirus pandemic has accelerated unanticipated changes in cities across the world, resulting in strains and stresses in ways cities operate but also fast-tracking improvements or efficiencies in other areas. The pandemic has also served to shine a light on the great inequalities across our cities as well as identified areas for investments and training.
Learnings from our approach to handling the pandemic across cities should be reflected on and considered as we prepare our cities to adapt to the growing threats of climate change.
A community’s connection to place is at the very heart of building resilient cities and one of the critical reasons for getting this right.
Through this ambitious virtual roundtable discussion, Resilience First will assemble international city leaders with a cross-sector of business leaders to share and learn from each other as well as unlock a cross-fertilisation of innovations for the betterment or futureproofing of our cities and their communities.
Speakers:
Seth Schultz, Executive Director, The Resilience Shift (Chair)
Andy Deacon, Acting Managing Director, Global Covenant of Mayors for Climate and Energy
Jean Devlin, Partner, Control Risks
Jeremy M Goldberg, Worldwide Director of Critical Infrastructure, Microsoft
