Monday 18 September, Climate Week NYC

As part of a new multi-year joint initiative for catalysing climate resilience with private sector action, Resilience First, Resilience Rising and the Center for Climate and Energy Solutions (C2ES) are convening selected business leaders and expert climate resilience stakeholders for a private lunch and roundtable discussion on Monday, September 18, during New York Climate Week 2023.

Overview:

Climate risks are now recognised as some of the most critical threats to the global economy, with long-term implications for communities, businesses, and overall stability. Even with significant reductions in greenhouse gas emissions, the consequences of a warming planet will continue to compound, leading to an uncertain future. As significant drivers of the global economy, businesses have a crucial role in strengthening economies and ensuring the well-being of communities. However, the lack of a clear pathway and framework for demonstrating business action on climate resilience, and platform for peer exchange hinders the development and acceleration of climate resilience across industry sectors.

This event will convene a carefully selected group of companies and resilience stakeholders at a private lunch and roundtable discussion during Climate Week in New York.  Aimed at senior strategy and sustainability executives, this is the first in a series of facilitated discussions hosted by C2ES, Resilience First, and Resilience Rising to engage business leaders, understand their needs, and to build a business case for investing in resilience across industry sectors.

This is a private roundtable discussion, attendance is strictly by invitation only. If you would like to learn more about the initiative or how to join the event, please email contact@resiliencefirst.org
