Airports are communities of businesses that service and operate airlines for passengers and freight alike. Their continued competitiveness and growth are essential to the UK’s future prosperity. But they are very complex locations and function in a challenging environment. They are subject to a variety of disruptions that can appear suddenly like protesters or drones, or be influenced by long-term developments such as electric planes or climate change.

This breakfast briefing will see the launch of Resilience First’s report on airport community resilience. It will look at the findings of a six-month study on how airports are adapted, or not, to cope with the upcoming challenges. Central presentations from the report’s authors will be complemented by a panel of experts who will explore the resiliency upsides and downsides of an airport’s land-side functions.

Speakers

Keynote: Dame Deirdre Hutton, Chair, CAA

Nick Millar, Operations Director, London Stansted
