Launch of new ACT app. Live-time information from Counter Terrorism Policing, plus all the very latest protective security advice, is now available 24/7 via a new service.
Using your phone, the police can keep you updated through the new, easy-to-navigate Action Counters Terrorism (ACT) app. Powered by Urim, the ACT app is free for businesses and has been developed in partnership with industry specialists from Marks and Spencer and Highfield eLearning. New cinema campaign. From 6 March, a short film is being shown in cinemas across the country highlighting possible signs of terrorist activity and explaining what the public can do to help officers.
The 60-second advert, which has won a number of industry awards, will be on screens before many of the upcoming top-rated movies. It is also available online. Called ‘Look Again’, the powerful production shows what sort of behaviour could indicate someone is planning a terrorist attack. Details can be found here.
Coronavirus-related fraud scams. Fraudsters are exploiting the spread of Covid-19 to facilitate various types of fraud and cyber crime.
Since February 2020, the National Fraud Intelligence Bureau (NFIB) has identified 21 reports of fraud where Coronavirus was mentioned, with victim losses totalling over £800K. Details can be found here.
