Resiience First and Cranfield School of Management: A Partnership to Build Organisational Resilience
Through the new partnership, Resilience First and Cranfield will support public and private sector organisations to develop resilience capabilities for disruptive and uncertain times, including a collaboration on a new Model for Organisational Resilience.
By teaming up with Cranfield, Resilience First members will be able to access expertise through professional development courses and participation in relevant events, which will help them build organisational resilience to proliferating shocks and stressors. Members in the network will also be able to work with Cranfield’s academic experts to assess their own organisational resilience, identifying areas for improvement and resources to develop in-house capability for resilience building.
Resilience First will be assisting Cranfield University with its ongoing research and development in this area; and joint guidance and resources will be developed in the future to benefit members in the network.
The new strategic partnership builds off years of close collaboration between Resilience First and Cranfield School of Management, including the ongoing development of a new Model for Organisational Resilience which will launch in autumn 2024. The new Model will include metrics and guiding principles with which organisations can address and improve their resilience in a rapidly developing socioeconomic, political and technological operating environment.
“In an increasingly complex and uncertain global environment, businesses must be prepared and ensure they have the resilience to withstand shocks and volatile situations,” said David Denyer, Professor of Leadership and Organisational Change at Cranfield School of Management. “This new partnership will help to support businesses navigating change and building their resilience and it will help accelerate our understanding of this crucial area with additional research opportunities.”

Cranfield’s Resilience and Security Institute brings together academic experts across different specialisms and disciplines at Cranfield University, working with policy makers, businesses and practitioners to understand and address resilience challenges.
