Resilience First has over 500 organisations across all sectors in its membership.

Our mission is to help our members strengthen their resilience through inter-organisational learning and knowledge sharing, promoting practical solutions and innovations to overcome common challenges and providing opportunities for active engagement, dialogues and networking.

We bring organisations together to build communities of practice across sectors to explore and advance resilience.

Our member-led annual programme provides Resilience First members with access to the latest thinking and strategic insights on resilience, alongside exclusive expert-led events and networking opportunities, and practical resources. Members also benefit from   opportunities to develop strategic resilience leadership competencies through our academic partners.

Resilience First membership offers:

  • Inter-organisational learning
Members participate in multi-sector Working Groups and Dialogues to advance the practical application of resilience and explore and address common challenges.
  • A member-guided agenda
Our Members Advisory Group ensures our programming reflects member priorities and remains relevant and impactful.
  • Practical Do-Tank Approach
We promote a data-led, measurement-based approach to organisational resilience through a standards-aligned Model, illustrating its application with practical use cases and insights our members can apply.
  • Strategic insights and virtual and in-person events
In 2025 we delivered 46 sessions including our bi-annual Networking Receptions and the bi-weekly Leaders’ Forum Series.

  • Connection between business and government
    Members
are regularly briefed on topics such as the UK’s National Risk Register and Chronic Risks Analysis and are able to provide feedback to the UK Government’s resilience approach.
  • Professional development and thought leadership
Ongoing learning and access to thought leadership opportunities for professionals at all levels of a member organisation.

At the core of our work is our Model for Organisational Resilience, developed in partnership with Cranfield University School of Management. This Model drives a data-led, measurement-based approach to organisational resilience and enables a more strategic means to capacity and capability building, which can be clearly understood at board and senior executive levels. Through our Working Groups, we provide practical case studies and tools to help our membership apply in practice.

In addition to the core theme of Organisational Resilience, we focus on programming themes which are relevant to and impactful for our members.
