Joint Resilience First and Pool Re Webinar

As the much awaited Martyn’s Law progresses to draft legislation and scrutiny in the Houses of Parliament, Resilience First in partnership with Pool Re, invites our members to an important webinar to consider what businesses can do now to be prepared for when the bill passes and becomes law, which is expected to be by Spring 2024.

During the webinar, we look forward to hearing from an expert panel and the practical steps that businesses should consider and begin implementing now to enable a smooth transition towards the legislation and ensure compliance.

This virtual session is ideally suited for businesses with large crowded spaces, property developers, retailers, leisure and events organisers, professional services, emergency services and local authorities.

Martyn’s Law was long campaigned for by Figen Murray, mother of Martyn Hett, who was tragically killed alongside 21 others in the Manchester Arena terrorist attack in 2017, upon the realisation that more was needed to be done to compel businesses to protect the public from the impact of terrorist attacks on venues welcoming the public.

As the Security Minister Tom Tugendhat has been quoted as saying: “The threat from terrorism is enduring. In recent years, we have seen terrorists target the public at a broad range of locations, causing deaths and casualties amongst innocent people going about their everyday lives…This is a significant step forward for Martyn’s Law and our ability to further protect the public.”

The legislation will ensure venues are prepared for, and ready to respond in the event of an attack, thereby ensuring that public places are better protected and prepared.
